Top Tips On How To Create Successful, Converting Blogs
Posted on 14th April 2022
If you’re looking to display your industry knowledge, there’s no better way to do so than writing your ideas up into a blog post. This will help you to fully explain and expand on topics you may discuss on social media and will provide your audience with a deeper understanding behind what you do.
Knowing how to create a blog post that’s compelling to read is important as it needs to keep people reading, engaging, and learning from what you have written. Here are some tips to create successful blogs.
You blog headline/title needs to be strong. When you’re writing a blog post, you need to be able to sell it to your audience and give them reason to click. Be precise, use emotion and create a sense of urgency.
Making your content sound important and unmissable with give people an incentive to click. Calling certain things ‘Secret’, saying ‘Don’t Miss Out’ or promising to provide tips or advice will all be convincing to your audience, and will help them decide whether they want to click. Being vague with headlines or not being clear about what exactly it is your content provides will likely see your audience continue to scroll past or click off if the content isn’t matching the headline. By ensuring your headlines are strong, you’ll be able to et your audience engaged with your blogs before they even begin to dive into them.
Understand Your Audience
Like you would with social media posts, check your analytics. These analytics will give you an insight into who your audience is and what content they’re the most engaged with. This will then allow you to understand what you should be writing about in your blogs and give you the opportunity to expand the knowledge you expressed in those successful social media posts.
Asking your audience what they’d like to see is also a good way of understanding what they want to see from you. You’ll be able to find out exactly what topics they’re interested in, and what questions they want you to answer.
Images will help to break up content and display what you’re discussing. Visual content is easier to consume than a chunk of text, so inserting images will potentially be useful to give the audience an understanding of what you’re speaking about.
You can create your own images, use copyright free ones, or take your own photos. Whatever you decide, make sure you place them in relevant areas (such as after text that discusses what the image relates too) and make sure you use a good amount for the length of your post. If your post is short, using one image would most likely suffice, and make your blog flow nicer than if there was an image after each paragraph.
Subheadings will also break up your content and allow you to specifically categorise sections of your blog. This will then help those reading skip to certain sections if they already have prior knowledge or need a quick solution to a question that they may have. Subheadings will also give you the opportunity to discuss more than one topic in a blog whilst letting the content flow without skipping from one subject to another.
Call To Action
At the end of your blog, have a call to action to follow you, check out another post or engage with your product/service. You want to keep the audience engaging with your business, so adding a call to action will give them an instruction on what to do next following on from their reading. This may also bring you new followers and clients, helping your business grow.
Creating blog posts is a great way to show your industry knowledge and give back that knowledge to your engaged audience. Start writing blogs today and see how they can bring value to you and your following.
